JUNIOR CAMP
and so ends my first junior camp
er, i wasnt there as a camper but as an officer. it has been a tremenduous time of learning, interacting with the children and the other camp officers. unfortunately, i cldnt be there the entire duration of the camp but it certainly made every moment very special indeed. i treasured every moment of it.
my little cousin, Julian went for it and he has been a source of joy during this week as well. or so the other officers tell me. when i asked him if he would like to come next year, he said yes and he will ask his friends along.
i noticed a very interesting thing about Bethany's Camps, whether its the recently concluded Junior Camp or the upcoming Youth Conference. once you start coming, you never stop. there are kids who dont go to sunday school but are always present during camps.
like my friend davier who helped out for the first time at this year's Junior camp said that he wont mind doing the same for next year's camp.
there's just something about Bethany that makes people keep wanting to come back.
I realised that from the moment i stepped into Bethany about 11 years ago, i've never left. i've never thought it would be like home to me. it feels like a second home indeed. maybe thats why i've never felt the need to call home whenever i am at camps in bethany.
OH! and for probably the FIRST time in her life, my sis din called home to tell my mum all the happenings at camp. usually she wld call home during camps and update my mum. and everytime when i get home after the camps, my mum would ask how come you din call home and your sis always does. hahah :D
hahah SHE DIN! hahaha i am goin to be laughing about it for a while. heehee. i guess things are different when you are a camp officer and have to look after the children. u forget certain things or maybe you feel slightly older and realise that things are different now. hahah :D
